Wedding Rings From Family Heirloom Gold

Melted Gold. Shared History. A New Beginning.
This summer, a young couple will stand together and begin their marriage wearing more than wedding bands — they will be wearing their family’s history.
When they announced their engagement, they also shared something meaningful: that I repurpose heirloom gold to create new wedding bands. Instead of purchasing new metal, they invited their families to contribute pieces that were no longer being worn but still carried deep sentimental value.
What happened next was incredibly moving.
Family members began offering treasures from their jewellery boxes:
- A mother gifted her own mother’s wedding set.
- An aunt contributed a single, well-loved earring.
- A father offered a broken chain tucked away for years.
- A grandmother donated her late husband’s wedding band.
Each piece carried its own story. Each held memories of love, commitment, and life lived.
Together, these unworn fragments of the past were melted down and transformed into something entirely new — the couple’s wedding bands.
The gold was reshaped, refined, and reimagined. The history remains.
There is something profoundly beautiful about this kind of beginning. These rings are not just symbols of two people coming together. They represent generations standing behind them. They hold the quiet support, blessings, and love of family — forged directly into the metal itself.
What a powerful and tangible way for family to support a new marriage.
This is why I do what I do. Old gold doesn’t have to sit forgotten in a drawer. It can become part of a new chapter — one that carries the past forward in the most meaningful way.
If you have heirloom jewellery waiting to be redesigned, I'd love to explore design possibilities with you.
